On May 16, 2022, Alexandre “Gaules” Borba experienced a historic moment on Twitch. During the Imperial × Cloud9 series at the PGL Major Antwerp 2022, the streamer reached over 710,000 concurrent viewers at the peak of the third map—a national record never before achieved for e-sports broadcasts.

Imperial’s 2-1 victory over Cloud9 secured more than just a spot in the Major: it gave Brazil the largest e-sports live stream in history, surpassing previous records set by Casimiro (545,000) and Bak (511,000).

With the official PGL broadcasts running in parallel, it is estimated that 1 million people watched the match at the same time.
